I am totally in love with grand slam subs. They definitely have the best subs in town. Their bread is awesome & the meat is quality. The soups are really good, too. They even have free pacman and foosball. I would highly recommend everyone check them out. Hurray for local business. I really hope they make it.

James- We should define what a sub shop is. On one side the sub shop that only sells sandwiches on hoagie roll. (Like Friendly's off off Academy by Woodman or Salvaggio's up in Boulder) or the stores that are half sub, half sandwich shop, (Like The Spicy Pickle, A Flavor of New York Deli, off 21st street or The Corner Cafe). I don't know but I would assume that a sub shop would be harder to stay

I agree that the Spicy Pickle and Mollica's are good, but that's my point: they aren't sub shops. I disagree that Trivelli's is all that great; good cheesesteak but so-so on everything else.

I also agree that places that use Boar's Head are superior, but I have yet to find a sub shop that uses it. The Corner Cafe is the only place downtown that I know of that uses Boar's

Every major supermarket bakes fresh bread,have lettuce ect. Why go and pay someone if I can make it myself. There are some great sandwich/sub shops in The Spring. They are alittle hard to find and they are mostly independents.
Warren- good food for under $6 in downtown is hard to find. The landlords downtown think they are on Powers Blvd. There are a couple of restaurants not on Tejon that are at or under $6 that are good.
